A Retrospective Study on Assessment of Patient Satisfaction for Comfort, Mastication, Esthetics, & Retention for Removable Partial Denture

Abstract


Background:  Now a day’s Teeth loss becomes more and more common in elderly population and the successful demand for prosthetic care increases, as the patients want to reinstate the oral health function, esthetics and mastication. On the other hand the main downside of acrylic resin is lack of adaptability and stability, poor esthetics, post insertion problems, unsatisfactory transverse and impact strength. Material and Methods: This study was conducted in the department of prosthodontics. For this study we enroll 100 patients the patients were explained about the questionnaire and were asked to fill the questionnaire when they reported to the department. The acceptance of denture was manifest as excellent, good, regular and bad. Results: After evaluate the questionnaire we found most of the patients were giving excellent results regarding function esthetics, mastication and retention, while few were giving bad reviews. Conclusion: We concluded that treatment of majority of patients with good mental attitude was found excellent and only few cases were not happy with the prosthesis.
