A Simplified Technique for Fabrication of Maxillary Reservoir Denture – A Case Report

Abstract


Xerostomia is defined as dry mouth resulting from reduced or absent salivary flow. It is a symptom associated with various medical conditions, a side effect of radiation to head and neck, or side effect of wide variety of medications. It is based on the cause of treatment which is provided to the patient. In partially edentulous or completely edentulous patients, reservoir denture with artificial salivary substitute is one of the treatment options. The methods advocated for reservoir denture fabrication are time consuming and requires multiple processing of denture. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to provide a simplified technique for fabrication of maxillary reservoir denture.
