Background: A successful root canal treatment has many confounding factors. Amongst them, determination of working length plays a key role. In the present study, we have compared the efficacy of digital IOPA Xray, a thirdgeneration and a fifth-generation apex locator on single-rooted extracted teeth in the presence of sodium hypochlorite. The data obtained were analyzed by the Chi-square test (p < 0.05) and the comparative test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov. The comparison of IOPA Xray to both the apex locators was statistically significant, but the comparison between Dentaport ZX and Woodpex III was not statistically insignificant.
Keywords: Apex locator, Impedance, RVG, Working length.
