Background: Bioactive glass is introduced as a synthetic bone graft substitute in various periodontal osseous defects. This review paper provides an overview of the previous published clinical researches on indications such as deep intra-osseous defects i.e. horizontal bone resorption, vertical bone resorption & destructive periodontal disease who were got treated with bioactive glass material which will definitely enhance the apprehensive knowledge of reader about bioactive glass as synthetic bone graft material.
