Abstract

Background:  Root canal treatment is full of challenges, curves, complexities and contentment.  Broken instrument in the canal is one such mishap leading to stress and anxiety among both. It not only hinders in cleaning and shaping of the canal but also affects its prognosis. Various methods are available for retrieval of broken instrument with its own advantages and disadvantages. This article presents an overview of cause, prevalence and management of separated intracanal instrument.
