Background: Despite the skill and art of the operator and care with which the injection is administered, fear of injection and anxiety that comes with it continues to plague the profession of pediatric dentist. Aim: To assess the efficacy of novel syringe carpule to reduce the anxiety while administrating local anesthesia and To assess & compare the level of anxiety in children with or without alligator sleeves using Venham’s picture test (VPT), Venham’s clinical rating scale (VCRS) and physiologic parameters. Materials and Method: Total 40 children aged 5-8 years were divided into two equal groups of 20 children in each group. Group A-conventional syringe group and Group B-with alligator syringe sleeves. Measurement of anxiety before and after the administration of local anesthesia with or without angie angelus alligator syringe cover was done with VPT & VCR scales. Pulse rate and oxygen saturation were recorded, as physiological indicator of anxiety response. Result: Comparing mean difference of both group A to group B using VPT, VCRS, and pulse rate group B was statistically significant. Conclusion: Angie angelus alligator syringe sleeves can be considered as an effective measure to reduce injection related anxiety in children.
