Background: For effective replica of teeth and supporting structures, gingival displacement is mandatory. The present study was conducted to compare different agents in gingival retraction. Materials & Methods: The present study was conducted in the department of Prosthodontics. It comprised of 60 patients age ranged 26-40 years of both genders. In all subjects, maxillary right canine was selected. three gingival displacement agents such as Racegel, tetrahydrozoline and viscostat were used. Results: Out of 60 subjects, males were 35 and females were 25. In group I, racegel, in group II, tetrahydrozoline and in group III, viscostat material was used. Table III, graph II shows that mean gingival displacement in group I was 0.241 mm2, in group II was 0.210 mm2 and in group III was 0.152 mm.2 The difference was significant (P< 0.05). Conclusion: Authors found that racegel gave maximum gingival retraction followed by tetrahydrozoline and viscostat material.
