Abstract

Background:  Interdisciplinary therapy deals with coming together of various branches in dentistry exhibiting their skill in different aspect. The success or failure of orthodontic treatment procedures depend a lot on the periodontal condition of the patient. A number of periodontal problems can be benefited with orthodontic treatment and vice-versa. The benefit of orthodontic and adjunctive periodontal therapy are being highlighted. Good periodontal health maintenance should be  mandatory for the success of orthodontic treatment. Keywords: Interdisciplinary therapy, Orthodontic tooth movement, Oral hygiene.
