Abstract

Background:  Stem cells provide new strategies to regenerate missing tissues. Stem cells are offering treatment to various diseases because of their self renewal and multipotent properties. With the better understanding of modern sciences, there are advances ongoing in the field of stem cells for fixing various biological problems. There is a revolution in the tissue engineering due to the continued improvements in the application of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). This article focuses on the various types of stem cell sources and also provides an overview of the different applications of stem cells in dental sciences.
