Abstract

Background:  Temporomandibular joint problems have always posed a challenge to orthodontists. The major goal of an orthodontist is providing patient with better esthetics as well as masticatory system. In this review we have tried to high light the major factors associated with TMJ complaints and an overview of the treatment modalities along with the perspective of how the treatment will go based on the severity of TMJ disorders and the keen role an orthodontist will play in establishing better joint functions.
