Background: This study aims to assess the level of awareness and understanding among orthodontists regarding the multifaceted management of tongue thrust and to evaluate their knowledge of habit correction, myotherapy, periodontal considerations, and retention strategies. Materials and Methods: This study has employed a cross-sectional survey design. A sample of 100 orthodontists was recruited through a combination of random and purposive sampling techniques. A structured questionnaire will be developed to collect data on the following aspects. Demographic characteristics are years of experience and knowledge of periodontal considerations in tongue thrust patients. The questionnaire was administered electronically using a secure online platform. Data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results: In the current study, all participants (100%) agreed that tongue thrust could be caused by diffuse open bite, which was frequently observed in mouth breathers and children with a history of allergies or chronic nasal-respiratory disease. Conclusion: The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the current understanding of tongue thrust management among orthodontists. Ultimately, this will lead to better treatment outcomes and improved oral health for patients with tongue thrust.
