Abstract


Background: Oral myiasis is invasion of body tissues or cavities of living animals by maggots or larvae. Even though it is not considered as rare disease, most dental professionals have very little knowledge about diagnosis and treatment of this pathology. A case report of a 12-year-old patient with cerebral palsy is presented in this article. This review aims to delve into the multifaceted nature of oral myiasis, exploring its etiology, epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, treatment modalities, and preventive strategies.
